As I understand it, you will see flow lines if a meteorite from the travel through the atmosphere. If you found it was it just the one rock or many? There are meteor fields in AZ (popular hunting area near Bullhead City) but if ground was littered with similar looking stuff not likely.

I didn't think it was a meteorite but I do think it may be magnetite. If I sell it, I want to make sure it is what it is. Scott

Magnetite is a magnet itself. Does it attract anything besides that magnet? If not, then maybe it's just a hunk of raw iron -- possibly a meteorite I suppose.

The Magnetite I collect in N.C. will only attract a magnet not other metals. It looks a little like what I find. Keith

really looks like it may be magnetite....doesn't really have any meteorite characteristics

Polish a small area and etch it to see if Widmanstatten patterns emerge. Lots of how to's on the net. You can etch with circuit board etchant available at Radio Shack. A Ferric Chloride Hydrochloric acid mix.
