Tony W sent me a really cool saying after we were talking about my sig. This, I think is awesome! I would sure like to read more of these! Those pick me up epiphany moments make my day! You guys got any to add?
From Tony:
An old Cherokee Indian told his Grandson, "My Son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies & ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy & truth".
The boy thought about it, and asked, " Grandfather, which wolf wins? "
The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed."

That's a really fine perspective reminds me of the ancient Greek bedrock saying of:
Know Thyself
According to Socrates once you really know a person would always choose the better good cause anything else would be a foolish ignorance...

Don't criticize a wet Indian untill you have walked a mile in one moccasin! That carried me a long way.

LOL doc!
One thing that has helped me to not get hung up on stuff is... It is what it is. Acceptance is the key to moving forward freely.

I don't know if this is a feel good saying but I like it just the same. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit. -Aristotle

Some of my favorite English proverbs: Bill
A closed mouth catches no flies
An ounce of discretion is worth a pound of wit
Danger and delight grow on the same stalk
Distance lends enchantment to the view
Doubt is the beginning not the end of wisdom
Empty vessels make the most noise
Fine words butter no parsnips
Fortune favours the brave
From the sublime to the ridiculous is only one step
Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration
Happy wife, happy life
If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas
In the kingdom of the blind the one eyed man is king
It's better to light a candle than curse the darkness
Kindle not a fire you cannot put out
Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone
Little strokes fell great oaks
Many a true word is spoken in jest
Marry in haste, repent at leisure
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent
One half of the world does not know how the other half lives \ One year's seeding makes seven years weeding
Procrastination is the thief of time
Prosperity makes friends, adversity tries them
Speak as you find
Take care of the pence and the pounds will take care of themselves
The cobbler always wears the worst shoes
The price of liberty is eternal vigilance
There are none so blind as those, that will not see
There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle
Virtue is its own reward
What the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over
Who keeps company with wolves, will learn to howl
We never miss the water till the well runs dry
Work expands so as to fill the time available
You can't run with the hare and hunt with the hounds
Youth is wasted on the young

Geoff,
THANK YOU!!!!! I married into a military family that has gone back decades ..... the sacrifices are much bigger than someone like me will ever know.
"Oh Well" seems very fitting. My sister in-law got back from there not too long ago, she got retirement as a Chief! I need to call her and see what got her through it.
BTW Geoff...... Thank you for keeping me safe. You are the reason our country can sleep at night..... I RESPECT YOU AND HONOR YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!!!!!!

That another Greek saying Actually its was an epiphany ! Exclaimed by Archimedes as he ran naked from the city bath into the city square>
At the moment he lowered himself into the bath, he realized the water raised or displaced.
Eurkea! [/b]
He realized how to weigh the gold crown and specific gravity was born .

Mine occurred while hunting with an old family friend when I was 16. We were hunting elk near the Park, I was driving my newly acquired Willys wagon up a logging track through some deep snow in the darkness of the wee hours, and it was below zero.
Though the Jeep was doing fine thus far, the snow was getting deeper and the side-hill getting steeper as we gained elevation. Feeling a bit spooked, I thought I would avail myself of some advise from Ed. He was a very savvy off-roader, and drove a wrecker for years.
Ed, I says, "In conditions like this, when is the best time to chain up?" He turned his head slowly over toward me and replied, "Before you need them."
That was a Eureka moment for me, and I've applied that same wisdom to many other things in the years since.

I’ve been having lots of little epiphanies with this rock hobby its amazing ! especially with crafting the rock’n hearts but who eyes don’t widen when a slab is cut and there is this amazing pattern ? or the epiphany experienced when the stone is under the diamond wheel gliding thru a polishing bringing out textures, glints, finesse that is just boggling! and we see it everyday on this board! Shine on! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)
