Well this rock is nicer than the pictures show. Or should I say my camera skills show. A metamorphic rock from Tandl and I will need him to ID. The knife is a Buck 501. Thanks for looking and any tips or advise are welcome. John PS- Thanks Ken for all your help. PSS- Sorry for the pun ;D

Beautiful knife once again John. If I had to, I'd guess gneiss for the stone.

Once again you did great. They get easier. AND faster. Time to go to a nicer, harder stone. Ken

That came out killer !!! The stone is Quartz,Dumortierite,Andalusite-Gneiss. A hard , very tough rock that will stand the use and abuse

Looks good to me too! When you want something that will put up with abuse, that's the way to go!

You all are too kind! This rock is very nice with a soft hint of blue in the gray. My photos suck! Sorry
I asked Ted to help select some rocks that were nice looking and tough because I want the recipients of these knives to be able to really use them. I am going for tough and good looking... just like their maker. LOL ;D ;D
