Has any of the regular suppliers ever shipped into the UK. I see lots of offers for sale but I feel the shipping costs might be prohibitive. I feel I can trust members who contribute to this board and are actively interested. Or, if you know of any reputable dealers in the UK, I'd appreciate their contact.

International flat-rate envelopes can weigh up to 4 lbs and cost $14. Medium flat rate boxes are $45.50. Weight limit of 20 lbs on those. Large FRB ($58) is probably not worth it, since weight limit is still only 20 lbs.

If what you're wanting to purchase is fairly small, you could probably have one of the members buy it for you here, and mark it on the customs sheet as a gift. This would save you most, if not all of the import taxes.

If you go to USPS.com and click on calculate cost you can figure costs pretty accurately. You need a USA zipcode from the supplier and the postal code of the destination, the weight of the order and package size (dimensions). I think most of the popular suppliers ship out of USA. I've never shipped to UK but ship all over the world and yes, it costs a lot more than stat side shipping. If you find a UK distributor his prices will have to be higher to cover his shipping costs but may be less expensive than ordering a single item from a US distributor if he orders in quantity.
