I did some baking today, locally grown wheat home made bread and chocolate spice cookies from an old recipe. Some apple butter and a glass of milk should round things out...

My blood sugar shot up just looking at the bread. I was raised on "Colonial Bread" and the cakes and pies !!

Damn, now I have to go and eat some sugar since I do not bake. Maybe if I show the photo to my son it will get him motivated. Great post. Jim

Yum. I'm ashamed to admit I'm a bread addict and that don't help much with me trying to skinny up *L*. Home made sourdoughs are my absolute favorites with real butter. Went to a riding group meeting the other night and one of the gals gave me a loaf of bread that is a totally new one for me. It's bread but tastes exactly like those old timey "Bear Claw" pastries. I've been rationing it to make it last longer cause man that is one great tasting loaf of bread.....Mel

Ohhh, yea that looks good. I haven't made fresh bread in weeks but seeing that pic makes me hungry. I have a couple apple pies in the oven right now but after seeing that pic it makes me wish i made some bread to go in the oven too.
