Hey guy! How do you know that that is sponge? I know that you know your stuff but, what makes it a sponge. I don't know, just asking. I can see the chalcedony and the quartz!

Thanks for the comments , Gary , it comes from experience, having found these in pretty much every state of preservation , from weathered to quartz to geodized , i have a eye ,so to speak ,for them. There is still a remant pattern in this one, the layering is still recognizable . When i get around to it, im gonna to post a line of preservation, of these and some different types of corals . also these pics were taken under incandesent light, this has better blue and white color.

I think that is a match to some rocks I found and thought they looked to be a fossil coral or sponge. I have some in polish right now and should be done in 3 days. Some has a pink tint, some a lavender tint and other is gray tinted mixed with white. I`ll post pics when done and maybe you can tell me if they are sponges or not.
