Hi All, Ted (tandl) sent me a box of rocks he collected locally in Illinois to see if I could chip out some arrowheads for him. Much to my surprise he sent some Attica chert (aka Indiana Green) and some of it was good enough to knap. Here's a picture of the points I've made so far. Happy Holidays, Michael

Very well done ! They look authentic Yeah , when the glaciers came , they left some of what is now the attica quarry here, is my best guess .

The center point is 1 1/2 inches long.
Thanks for all the good words everyone.

You have some great knapping skills Michael! Are they modeled after different known styles? Really came out nice!

Yup, they are all replicas of types that were made in prehistory.

Very nice points Michael! That chert makes them look so authentic. I have some chert material like that first point here in Ohio that I get from a local riverbed that gets ripped up during high water flooding -too many seasonal fractures and fossils to make many points from though. A knapping friend of mine refers to it as 10mile chert and sometimes knife-river flint - looks very similar to yours. Great work!
