Merry Christmas everyone! Hopefully a few rock related items were found beneath your tree. I found a few neat things beneath mine and thought I would share with the crowd.
Refrigerator Magnet
Laura thought this was one of the funniest things she ever saw and didn’t believe such an item could exist. Personally, I was dumbfounded … why else would you go on vacation?
Watch Glass Cases
Laura bought this at a garden outfitter intended for seed storage, but it will come in handy in my shop. The toughest thing about findings is finding them. Not anymore!
Labradorite
Laura bought this when we were collecting (I mean vacationing) in Newfoundland last summer. I think this is actually a tourist import from South Africa rather than from Nain, but I was quite excited to see the Christmas lights reflect of it.
Angelite
Much to my personal delight, Laura has discovered The Rock Shed. (Could it be because I book market it on her Favourites?) This is a light blue piece of Angelite from Peru. I will try some soft cabs in the New Year.
Lapis Lazuli
Laura found some Lapis Lazuli on e-bay. This was brought back from Afghan Land by a serviceman that just couldn’t leave it behind. I can see why. This brave soldier continues to serve. I don’t mind having a Blue Christmas one bit!
Long Wave Fluorescent Field Light
Evert kid needs a toy at Christmas. This is pretty cool. I’ve already been lighting up some calcite and fluorite in my collection and will try some photos soon.
Tee Shirt
The new Avatar is a photo of my new favourite tee shirt. Unfortunately, most of my friends will run to their atlas and actually try and find Pangaea. Oh well! Maybe they will send money to support the cause. Or maybe they will buy a Spell Check for the silt screener that spelled Pangea wrong.
Merry Christmas.
Darryl.
