Happy new year and happy anniversary Bob, Those are some really great piece of jewelry she designed and what a collection of book you have amassed. Do you have them cataloged in any way so as to aid you in being able to find a specific article, topic or jewelry making technique?
At one time my wife purchased an item from the Metropolitan Museum Of Art store. Ever since they have been sending us their catalog. In it they often feature reproductions of jewelry from past civilizations or from prominent designers. I have begun to save these catalogs to use as a source of reference for making jewelry. That is when I get to that point. LOL

Stu, Thank you for the wonderful ulexite crystal! It has some very distinctive characteristics. No, I don't have them cataloged but they are generally arranged by grouping similar topics, jewelry making, Jade, antique jewelry, lapidary, Faberge, etc. I have looked through, read, studied and otherwise perused them enough that I can usually rather quickly narrow down to the book that I have seen something in that I want to study for a design concept. I read a lot of books but these I have studied from even more. Bob

Holy cow!
I'm a book man and impressed with that collection as much as the pieces in the book you bought (which looks like an excellent one).
Thanks for sharing,

First and foremost Bobby, I must congratulate you and your wife on 49 years together. I have great respect and for people that stay together through the trials of life. I understand the difficulties of two people trying to make their way through this world. I hold in HIGH regard people that have the fortitude to withstand the time and circumstance and preserve their vows...my hats off to you Sir and your Lady. People like you give this world HOPE!!!! FAMILY is the core of everything!!!!!
On to the book, I also have a great appreciation for the written word. Suzanne's designs are inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Christopher, Thank you for your kind and insiring words! Our wedding was somewhat notable, though. I was in the Navy and was beng transferred in the middle of winter to the middle of Idaho when we decided on the spot to get married. My future mother in law looked in the phone book and found a Justice of the Peace in a very small town in California called Biggs. We went to see him and he ran a small one man print shop that published the local paper. When we got there he stopped the printing press, washed his hands, put on his jacket and performed the ceremony. Afterwards I offered him some money and he refused it because I was in uniform and serving our country. Ever since I have a theory on marriage - the more the wedding costs the shorter the marriage. What a wonderful gift and lovely story!! Happy Anniversary!!
I'm not sure about the 'more the wedding costs the shorter the marriage'... my wedding broke the bank, and we've not spent more than 2 months apart (once) since I was 19. It's been quite a few decades now:)).
