It was mid 50's here today so we decided to take advantage of the warm sunny day and took a 5 mile hike up the hill by the house. We both had a good time although the leaves on the ground made it slippery at times. Amber is in pretty good shape these days but I think I wore her out on this one. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, next time I won't be lazy and I'll take the camera. Us. Me on a boulder. This area has a lot of history. There is an old wine cellar standing on top of the hill in the middle of nowhere. Well it wasn't always nowhere. Apparently there was a tavern here. The trail we were on was following the path of an old gravity railroad that used to bring tourists here in the late 1800's. The remains of the wine cellar. Found this cool fungus along the path. Strange day, didn't see one living animal, not even a bird. The turn around point, a bass hatchery pond. Eagle eye Amber spotted these along the path. Its the first time I've found hematite here in PA. Not sure its worth slabbing.

Woody you wouldn't even recognize her now, she's about 60 lbs lighter than when you saw her last year in Quartzsite. She's quite the maniac at the gym but I think the hike wore her out.

Talk about a weird winter, huh Tony! Only had 2 measurable snows here this season so far, and it's since melted away. Looks like you 2 had a good day. Fresh air will wear the kids out, won't it?! ;D Nate

Brain, you can go in but its not very big. Roof looks like its about to cave in as well. My left knee is doing great. Did this hike, which was fairly steep at times, and didn't have any problems during or after. I've been working hard at the rehab. Right knee is another story. Just found out I have sever arthritis and will need a knee replacement in a few years.

Looks like you both had fun. Too bad the wine cellar wasn't open for business for a quick glass before more hiking. It's great to hear your left knee is good but sorry to hear your right one is not.
