Had a great rockin' day yesterday! Rodney (lonetreestudios) and I headed out to the 40th Annual Flagg Show over in Mesa, but first stopped at a local yard sale that had advertised some rocks. I picked up these three buckets of jasper and agate nodules, and a 10 lb chunk of Bloody Basin agate for $20 Great start to the day! From there we headed over to Mesa to check out the show. Picture perfect January day in Arizona, and many vendors set up out there. Here's a few pix Neat fossil plate.. scallops maybe? Frog fountain carved out of one piece of Boulder Opal 130 lb chunk of Rhodocrosite Beautiful big pricey dino bones Some sweet Mexicans So when we went out to Quartzsite on the first I was hoping to pick up a couple 18" blades from the Australians, but their shipment hadn't come in yet. Ralph told me he would bring a couple up to this show if they came in, and luck would have it they did! I owed Tim (azrockgeek) a blade he loaned me last month, and as luck would have it he was out there too!! Everything worked out just right, thank you Ralph and Mary Ann!!! Paid Tim back and picked up a back up blade. ;D So here's what I came home with Rodeo Flats agate and Crown of Silver chunks for a buck a piece! Cathedral, Pietersite, Big Diggins and Stone Canyon Condor, Dino, Mexican and Chrysocolla A peek inside a 40 lb bag of Laguna rough Been saving up since July for these two shows, think I did pretty well! Thanks a bunch for coming along!!

Wow! Unbelievable scores. The Crown of Silver purchase is my favorite. Were the Lagunas a great deal too? Scott

The guy with the psilomelane is a chrysocolla dealer that traded for it and apparently wasn't impressed. I was a little shocked when he told me a dollar each.. wish he had more Steve and Scott I got a pretty good deal on the Laguna rough. The guy is a miner and had it marked up a lot higher, but said if I bought the lot he'd give me a big discount. Paid about 4$ a pound! Cut one tonight and it looks pretty good Gotta say thanks to Rodney for hauling me out there and back.. thanks bud!

wow, 4 bucks a pound for those is awesome! Can't say I've ever heard of psilomelane but sure looks cool. Looks like you had a great rock-filled day. I can only imagine the springs in your car were hurtin. Love all the photos. Great deal on the bloody basin, and rodeo flats for a buck a piece? Holy cow. Love that stuff. It's on my list of places to go when I get out there. Thanks for the photo tour. Steve

Great score Beef. I'm jealous too. lol In 15 years of living in N.E. South Dakota, there has been exactly 1 sale with rocks that were worth looking at. I think every dealer within 2 states in all directions were there, and ran the prices way over what I was willing to pay. I scored 1 piece of old stock tiger eye that weighed about 3 lbs.
