Hmm, it's been a long time since I posted some pictures for you to see.
I hope these don't bore you too much.
As I'm cycling along the roads in Espania/Espana/Spain, I've noticed that occasionally there is a large 40 - 50ft tall figure on some of the hills along the way. There might be a Toreador (Matador / Bull Fighter) or even a Bull dominating the skyline.
I wondered what they were about, as they are not everywhere, but still quite common. I've since been told that they are placed on the highest hill tops in that particular region/district. Which explians why I have never seen one from the line of sight of the other. (If that makes sense?)
Anyway, I was cycling along at about 20:30hrs (Thats 8:30 pm (post meridiem - afternoon/evening). It was dark. It was windy, and it was cold. I was tired, I was hungry, and I was cold.
I'd been looking for a suitable camping place for the past 30 minutes, and just what does a suitable camping place look like? Well, it doesn't necessarily need to be perfectly flat. It does not need to be hidden from view. Most things are not seen because they are so obvious at times. Anyway, a suitable camping place when cycling a long a road is ideally above the level road. Afterall, drivers never look up above them. Do they? Or below the line of the road. (More dangerous though, because vehicles fall off the road all the time.) Again do drivers drive around looking down into the gullys all the time. Anyway, at night they are more concentrating on staring a head as opposed to looking around.
I found what to me was an ideal camping place for one night. Because the wind was so strong the tent actually stayed dry that night and there was no condensation on/in it the following morning.
What I didn't know was that I was only about 200 yards from the nearest farm !!
A Sun Farm - yeah, ok I made that bit up. It's actually called a solar farm, but ya don't go out in the solar do ya? Or get up at solar rise, or go to bed at solar set.
Anyways, first time I've ever seen a sun farm so just had to take some pics.
They are religous people here, and devoted to the religous icons and churches. The ceramic tilework is a real treat and so too are the churches. I'm reluctant to take pics inside churches, so as yet I've not got to that stage yet. So, why was I so keen to take pictures in temples then? Dunno, can't answer that.
Right pics of tiles, churches and cathedrals. Might not be in that order, but here they come.
Sevilla Cathedral - I tried to get the same image again later in the evening when it was illuminated. I hope they look like the same area.
Finally - Sevilla Cathedral Roof Top (Taken from the roof top terrace of my hostal).
And if you like Smoked Ham, this one is for you.
I'm in the region world famous for it's Oranges. That's World Famous, as in all arounfd the World, not like the world famous donuts I had in the States where people in the next town had never heard of the let alone the next state. Anyway, I digress.
World Famous Oranges. You are free to pick them anytime you want. The trees line the main roads, side roads, town roads, village roads, roads, street, and avenues between the houses. They are everywhere. Of course, Jonny had to be the one to srop and pick some didn't he. I've never tasted such sour oranges in my life. They had a very sour taste like orange/grapefruit and lemon all mixed into one. Yuk, I had one segment from ome orange then threw the rest away. I peeled another anf tried one segment from that, and threw that one away.
Now I know why the streets are lined with Orange laden trees
I'm Gone !!!
