Still in Spain, and still in Sevilla (Seville).
First off a Shrine to the Holy Virgin Mother Santa Maria.
A couple of pick tures of wall paintings. the first is definately Graffiti, but I'm not sure about the second. Either way they are both impressive pieces of art work.
H'ok, in the first pick tures thread I showed some pick tures of the Cathedral roof at night, here is what it looks like during day light.
Also, there were some pick tures of the Plaza de Espana, also taken at night. Here are similar pick tures of same place, but also during daylight.
The Plaza de España is a huge half-circle of buildings continually running around the edge accessible over the moat by numerous beautiful bridges. In the centre is a large fountain. By the walls of the Plaza are many tiled alcoves, each representing a different province of Spain.
Some of the ceramic tile work is amazing, and the vibrant colours are hard to explain. Perhaps a few pictures will aid.
But it's not just the seated alcoves that are festooned with ceramic tiles. When you check out the walls of the bridges, the walls of the buildings, and even the guards you see thousands and thousands of tiles.
Equally impressive are the many religious icons and scenes made entirely of ceramic tiles also.
I'm sure I mentioned that Sevilla is world famous for it's Oranges, and that the streets are lined with many fruit bearing Orange trees. Just a few reminders of what the streets look like.
This has got to be the biggest Harp I have even seen. I tried to get the pick ture right so that it captured the reflection in the river properly.
And FINALLY ... If anyone has been missing the little blighter, or wondering where he has been, I can assure you he is still up to his usual tricks. Acting all hoity-toity, and hob-nobbing with the gentry.
Here he is chatting with one of Sevilla's most famous Matadors.
Thats it from Sevilla, folks. Tomorrow morning - actually in 6 hours time from now - we saddle up, and acting like shepherds we get the flock outta here. It's been a pleasant couple of days resting up, and we've managed to buy some clothes suitable for seeing us over the winter period, and more fittingly over the Pyrenees Mountains. Yup, it's gonna be cold snowy and cold up in them there ranges
Take care folks. Keep smiling and remember - When you get angry, you are not angry with whats happening around you. You are angry with yourself for allowing it to happen.
Adeus, até a próxima vez.
