Hello, I'm not very faniliar with how this group works yet so if I posted this question in the wrong sopt please correct me.
I have 2 Thumbler model B's. Both have been used for initial grinds, because at the time I didn't know about cross contamination. Should I buy a new liner for one to use for 120/220? I've read somewhere on here that once you use it with 60/90, it shouldn't be used for the finer grits. I've separated everything now, but am doing damage control. I also have a UV-18, which I have a separate bowl for polishing and don't really plan on using the model b's for more than just the initial grind, but now I would like to use one for 120/220 and need to know if its already contaminated? Thanks Bruce

I use 2 1 pound rubber can for corse grit and 2 pvc cans for the fine grits if you can clean your cans well they should be fine. Walt

I've been using the same barrel on my Model B for all grit stages. You just have to be very careful about cleaning between stages.

I have a tumbler with the same barrel that I use just for coarse. I would just clean it well and not worry about it. The grit doesn't get embedded in the liner, but it sometimes gets stuck between the lid and the barrel.
I also have a UV-18. You might want to consider using both Model Bs for coarse and the UV-18 for all of the other steps. It takes a lot of rock to feed a UV-18. 120/220 will go much faster in the UV-18.
