After running near non-stop for most of 12 yrs., we had a tumbler motor cook. I found a very good looking air over motor for cheap at a sale, so I thought I'd give it a try. I put a car alternator fan on the pulley, and after running for several weeks now, it's working great. The pulley is thick enough to hold two 10-24 screws, and I turned a plug on my lathe to insure accurate alignment. Attachments:

Great idea Quartz. I put a small fan going on my tumbler and vibe motors, probably costs $1.00 a month, but the cooler I can keep my motors, the looooooooooooonger they will last.

That's pretty smart thinking. For those that don't know, "air over" motors have no internal cooling fans and are mounted in air handler cabinets so the air moving towards the blower they drive blows across the motor. Without some kind of external fan they overheat and cycle off on thermal overloads.
