These are all from an estate sale I went to on 1/21. People asked for some close ups of various items. All IDs are greatly appreciated. Poppy Mary Ellen I think this is turtle back/Isle Royal Greenstone I have no idea what these tiny green rocks are: These two are interesting. The one on the left is very green. There are a bunch of these mini slabs. Very green and translucent. Rough emerald? Just one piece of this. Translucent, green and tan. These agates did not come from the sale but I would like an ID if you have one. Thanks for looking and any help. Scott

The poppy is definitely Hornitos Poppy Jasper from Hunters Valley, CA. That first one is really wild and super cool but I have no clue what it is.....Mel

The first one looks like stephoinite , but may be something else ? the very green little one is isle royale greenstone, the tiny green ones look like jade.

Donnie, that first one is crazy wild. Thinking some sort of fossil material.

The sixth picture down - the green one on the left is Thomsonite. The ugly one next to it might be rhyolite. The two little green ones in the picture before that could be lintonite. In the last picture I see a yellow bell pepper.

The tiny green ones could be either Jade, as has been suggested, or serpentine. A hardness test should be able to sort that out fairly easily... Serpentine is fairly soft.

I assumed you went to the estate sale in MI, and the Turtle Back Greenstone and Thomsonite are consistent with a Lake Superior origin. The two green jelly beans next to the Greenstone in the fifth picture are typical of the size, shape and color of both Lintonite and also Prehnite specimens found in Lake Superior. Lintonite is actually just a different form of Thomsonite. I have collected all of those from Lake Superior, and by my eye, those two little stones could be either Lintonite or Prehnite -- assuming they are from Lake Superior.

I agree with the Bubble Gum Agate and Mary Ellen Jasper IDs. I think Daniel is on the right track, but Turtle Back usually has a pronounced turtle form. The Thomsonite also looks like Wavellite, but Thomsonite is more likely. Thomsonite is frequently pink and forms in nodules...

lparker, I start looking up brain coral. I've struck out with all other possibles. I know it is over 50 years old so it may be long forgotten. It does look like my brain corals in my old saltwater tank. Scott

I was guessing some type of coral or sponge. The green and tan translucent looks like tourmaline. The small green look like jade but scratch with a knife to verify.
