I recently made a jade knife and had a small round piece left over from it that i wanted to do something with. Well, me being a Star Wars fan i thought i would make a small rebel insignia out of the piece. It was tough to get it symmetrical since it was so small but i think i got it fairly close. This stuff also did not want to polish well and kept orange peeling so i ended up having to use very fine grits and dry sand for a very, very long time. Any time i tried to sand with a grit coarser than 600 it would tear fibers out and not shine up. It was frustrating but also a good learning piece so i knew how to polish my knife when it was finished. And some scale. And the shine.

Jade can be troublesome at the best of times.
Still, you got a good result and shape is not easy to deal with (inside curves).
(p.s: when I re=post on Sunday, I will have taken your advise and gave some structure tu the second wing. Thanks for your reminder.)

Thanks everyone, I think i may try to make a second one just like this and attach some earring studs to them for a friend. When she saw this piece she immediately wanted a pair of them to wear. (she is a Star Wars fan too)

Very cool. I'm glad you stuck with it to get the shine.
