I have a new thumlers model b that has developed a squeel. It seems to be coming from the belt. The directions said to line up the pulley and the drive coming out of the motor. But the pulley pretty much is non-adjustable from what I could see. They did mention something about a set screw but I did not see one of those on the drive shaft. I am sure others can help me on this. I hope that these being slightly off is what is causing my squeeling.

The set screw is on the motor pulley. Just loosen it and line the pulleys up with a straight edge. Put a drop of light machine oil on each of your 4 shaft bearings. Spin them a few times and wipe off any excess oil. Also just a drop of oil in each end of your motor. There should be a small oil hole on the top at each end. Never over oil your motor. Don

Good advice from Don. You might also try a little belt dressing on the belt.

The "Oil Ports" look typically like the ones in this photo,,,, connrock

I knew about the bushings but didn't know about the oil ports. Thanks!!
How often for a QT12 that runs 24/7? Once a month, once every couple of months, when it sounds like it needs it?

Jo, if your tumbler runs constantly, one drop of oil in each port per month should be more than enough. Less often if your tumbler is only run part time. Too much oil in a motor can be a bad thing. It attracts and holds dust.

Well... we sure got enough dust around here in Q to be attracted, LOL. Thanks Don!

Once a month is probably too often. The fan motors on refrigeration coils usually had oiling instructions on them (oil every 3 months, oil every 6 months, etc.). Excess oil will seep out of bearings and into the motor windings. In most cases it is better to under oil rather than over oil. The rollers are another matter and over oiling only makes a mess.
