Hi all. Some of you know that I had a hobby of doing digital art, paintings, airbrushing, etc. Well, while I've been gone I've put much of my time into taking art classes and it's paying off in spades. I've been invited in two businesses to do photo shoots of their cars, I've been asked to create album art for two musicians, and I've even had Christina Aguilera contact me to do a painting for her! Yes, it's been a complete hoot doing this stuff. Now I'm on several web sites and my desire to create is growing in leaps and bounds. It's associated with my lapidosis, the nickname I give to my desire to do lapidary stuff! lol
Anyway, I'm going to post several images here for you all to see what I've been doing during my absence. The reason is that you all have been so kind (Ken is like my big brother here), and I appreciate you all so much that I want to offer my talents up to you, for any of our members here, to do any graphics work you might want done. Right now I have graphics on 27 web sites, and that's growing, and I have created personal art, mainly portraits, for hundreds of people now. There is this huge ballroom dancing group here in Charlotte who travel the country dancing, and I've done oh 50 or so paintings from photos of their performances.
So, my photographic hobby has taken off, along with my digital art hobby. Anyone who wants something done with pictures you have, let me know. I've been doing all kinds of work and I'm making myself available to all of you at absolutely no charge. I would consider it an honor to do any work for any members of my extended family here.
Now sit back and scroll through my work, I hope you like it!!! Again, I can not say often enough how much I enjoy you all, your comments and suggestions have carried me through so many hard times, I really do love you all!!!
Here we go...
'53 Buick Skylark Convertible, from photo shoot at RK Motors here in Charlotte, sold this car for $179,900 :
This piece is titled, "Bird of Chernobyl", it's from a photo shoot done last summer in Chernobyl's graveyard, where all vehicles are kept that are highly contaminated from the clean up efforts :
I was asked to do some illustrations for Dodge for their 2014 Barracuda Concept cars, here's one in red :
One in black :
Also, I was asked to create an image of their 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 'SuperBee' in Dodge purple :
And lastly from Dodge, they wanted me to create an illustration of the new 2013 Dodge Dart :
Was commissioned to produce a CD case cover for a friend of mine, Petteri Sariola, one of the finest guitar players on earth :
My commissioned painting of Christina Aguilera, from her album "Stripped" :
This was a piece I did from a photo shoot locally of a friend of mine, Kaitlyn Ervin (yes, Ernie's daughter!), who is absolutely beautiful, and this piece has won me three contests now with professional artists on FineArtAmerica's site, titled "Kaitlyn's Eyes" :
Recently completed painting of Elvis, from 1956, my favorite actor and singer :
And last, but not least, one creation that has won me now 5 awards, three contests, and made it in a couple of magazines, called "The Desert's Heat" :
I also do a lot of photo recovery and colorizing work, this is the most labor intensive part of my hobby. Here's an example, a photo of a close friend of mine's father from back when he was in the Air Force or Army Air Corps, don't remember which, but have been working on this for 6 months now. Still have to finish up with colorizing the CMH ribbon around his neck and need to turn all the silver "farts and darts" and buttons, etc., into brass :
I sent that to Marla, and she called me up bawling her eyes out about how much it looked like her father and how I'd taken years off of him.
So, that's a good broad example of the work I'm doing. Anyone interested here in getting any photo work done, just let me know. You can see some of my work on my DeviantArt site at rhuggs.deviantart.com/gallery/ and my more 'commercial' art on my FineArtAmerica site at fineartamerica.com/profiles/robin-huggins.html
