yeah, I hear you "It sucks all the time..." which I disagree. Come rockhounding in our deserts and I'll convert you. So maybe I need to modify to "L.A. Sucks" They just passed a law to ban throwing frisbees and footballs and etc on the beach in all of LA County. $1,000 fine if you're caught. Exceptions are beach balls, volleyballs (DUDE!) and, ah hell. I'm too depressed to read more. Good news? They may 'ease up' on the off season. I guess people have paid so much for their new noses and, um, enhanced floatation devices, they don't want them broken, bruised or popped by misplaced balls or rotating discs. I hear from a reliable source they will start charging a tax to breath very soon. I wouldn't live in CA if they gave me the entire state. Rocks from CA are nice but I can buy them without ever going there.

*L* Man! Yeah, great rocks but the state is f**ked up beyond all redemption. Wouldn't go back there for anything. Any state that would elect friggin Jerry Brown for the second time and Boxer and Feinstein over and over is a hopeless case...Mel

Don't forget Pelosi Mel. Socialism is alive and well in Ca. Not sorry I moved away, but do miss the desert hounding from time to time.

I lived there for a bit too. Great vacationland, but otherwise you can keep it.

You guys are too cruel. CA is a wonderful place. Do you know for quite a few years now if you rent a U-Haul one way in CA going out of state you have to pay extra? They have to pay someone to bring the truck back. The main influx into CA doesn't rent U-Hauls I guess. Get ready Texas. Some day the California influx will have the same effect they had on CO and OR. Last time I drove through Denver they announced on the radio that due to high smog levels nobody should buy gasoline. Made me homesick. We do have a lot of public lands open to rock hounding, at least for now.

And, if there is a seal, or seal lion on the beach, it is closed to humans..........then the seals, and sea lions poop on the beach, and leave, so the state closes the beach because of fecal contamination.

L.A. officials announced this morning the no football/frisbee throwing law was not true. The recent change actually relaxed restrictions on use of both on the beach. Somehow the story got twisted and created a giant backlash of protestations.

Wasn't too long ago if CA was a nation, it would be the 7th richest in the world? Now it's equal to Haiti. Prime example how socialism and union sponsored liberal legislators don't work. What is really scary, Washington is doing the same thing. We're screwed.
At least we have Disneyland and Hollywood!
Can't wait to get out of here.
Oh, I just wrote Dianne Feinstein a nice letter this morning regarding the 85+ desert wilderness areas and the current BLM issues.
