Cut some of the fresh material we collected Monday from Last Chance Canyon. Was having major problems with my latest batch of Lube Cool. That stuff is junk. Evaporates, foams up, makes everything rust and I had to spray everything down with silicone spray. Worst of all, it made Goober sick! Now I'm ready to fight because NOBODY messes with Goober! Switched over to RV & marine antifreeze, the hot pink stuff. $5 per gallon at O'Reilly's auto parts. Used to winterize potable water systems in RVs, boats, mountain cabins, etc. So it's safe to use. Add a little vodka and would make a exotic cocktail! Looks and feels just like antifreeze, kind of slimy. Does not evaporate and nothing rusts. Motors did not bog down on my 10" Covington plus I increased the speed 1/3rd faster. Still brain storming the gravity feed. I need to get to the hardware store. Nice variety of jasp-ag. Much different from the other SoCal locations we've been to. Have plenty of this yellow moss. Some really different patterns and color combos. We like this stuff. Couple odd end pieces. I've been having so much fun slabbing new material because we've been heading out often lately. I CAN'T STOP! Tis the season where the weather is pleasant in the Mojave desert. Better get busy trimming because my slab bucket is over flowing. Probably have 100+ cabs to do now. LarryS

Maybe you should set up a table at Stoddard Wells. We plan on camping there a few days to visit friends and buy some used equipment.

Hope Goober is feeling better. Jake had his annual teeth cleaning on Tuesday, and is still mad at me.lol. That yellow stuff looks like it will cut some interesting cabs. Don

Tony, sent you a PM. I'm open for any suggestions and like experimenting with different coolants. Why? Because I'm the only idiot I know that doesn't use oil!!!!
John, you mean sell my treasured gem stones? I'm growing fond of all the piles of polished rocks we have on our coffee, end & dining room tables. As soon as they fall through the floor, we might consider selling some stuff. But in the mean time, we're having a blast! We just might take our Teardrop trailer and spend the weekend. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Don, Goober took his last pill tonight but still has another week on antibiotic cream. He actually letting us touch his ears, for the first time since he was a puppy. Think he's finally figured out that what we're doing to him makes him feel better. Plus maybe the treats he gets afterwords has something to do with it? Yeah, I need to stop slabbing and get to work on cabbing some of these. I do large high dome cabs and hope to get a cool 3D effect out of some of this material. Problem is, I have a big pile of cool looking rough that I'm dying to cut open.

Jake doesn't mind having his ears touched, but don't dare touch his feet. Vet gave me some samples including a dog tooth brush. There's a reason Jake has to be put to sleep to have his teeth cleaned. If I tried to shove that tooth brush in his mouth, I'd probably loose some fingers.

Okay, I'll take the PM I just sent you back. It sounds like that LubeCool isn't working well at all. I was asking about how it worked and then ran across your post. Looks like it sucks. We're doing to head up to the Stoddard Wells show on that Saturday (3/10) following Andrew's basketball game. Hopefully, I'll see you all there. Great looking slabs too ... Paul

Cool Slabs. I know what you mean about just itching to get the pile cut so you can see what is inside. Slows my cabbing down too. Fran

Very nice material, sorry to hear about poor Goober, glad he is getting better. Jakesrocks, there is a peanut butter flavored toothpaste that my dog loved, although she wanted the toothpaste but fought the brush...lol.
