That's just a glimpse of three shows. We spent as much as 2 weeks, shopping every day and never saw every show. It is incredible to say the least. This is the first year in nine we didn't go so thanks for the memories.

Someone should write and produce a reality show based on gemstone and rock vendors. It is essentially a cross between a Treasure Hunt and. "Survivor". If you're good (and sometimes lucky), the money is in the buying. The "Survivor" portion involves avoiding the scams and the crooks. Unfortunately, I have heard of of four armed robberies and a break-in while here. The newspaper is reporting that the break-in resulted in a loot of $800,000-$900,000. This was taken from an Oregon sunstone miner and maybe the second largest haul in the history of the Tucson shows.
