Cute squirel. But, above this, the picture quality is so good! Your new camera really shows its muscles here. You seem to have been learnt its secrets.

We had a squirrel like that last summer.
We aslo had a Honda Civic. Honda made an environmentally concious decsion to use a soy based product to insulate their electrical wires. Squirrels and other rhodents love soy based products. That little squirrel dined on $2,400 worth of a master wire harness.
I have to agree with snuffy. Squirrels belong in skillets.
Darryl.

Great pix!!! You guys are hilarious:). Years ago someone told me squirrels were good to eat (I don't want to try it), but then someone said they were barely worth the trouble and bony too. Have you guys actually EATEN a squirrel?

Years back,I worked for my uncle and his brother. They had a nice hunk of river bottom land and they killed many, many squirrels. They would cook up a large stew at work, makes my mouth water now.

Squirrels are very lean. They are best, to me, slow cooked in a Dutch Oven over a fire. On the other hand, I do not have the heart to do any of them in. My wife and I listen to them on our roof in the morning. Running back and forth. Later in the summer, they all get Bot Flies. Bumps all over them. We have a few that actually come fairly close to us, but stay just out of reach. One likes to yell at us. We had a bumper crop of them this year. We also have Owls, Hawks, Ospreys, and some very large cats. Ralph and Muffy stay in the house and do not even bother to watch them. Lazy. Those are great pictures. Good detail, good depth of field. Eye candy.

Um... what does squirrel taste like? (don't say tastes like chicken! LOL!) I don't want to try it, just curious what it tastes like. Is it a starvation food or good enough meat to actually be a preference?
We have alligators here, and some of the local restaurants serve gator steaks, gator nuggets. Gator is shockingly delicious. It's a cross between chicken and pork, with no gamy taste at all.

If it tasted like chicken,I probably wouldnt eat it.Guess the taste is closest to squirrel. ;D But it has been over 35 years since I've eaten any.

Last time I had some, it was almost like Armadillo. Less stringy, and it had been cooked with taters, onions, some peppers. Slow cooked. Better than Ptarmigan!
