Two of the girls in my womens bible study are part of a missionary group that goes to the Dominican Republic every year. They went back in November and they brought me back a couple of Larimar chunks. These were rather large so I was not sure of the quality but it was from the heart so I didn't care!
I cut them and made the preforms on Sunday . Yesterday I cabbed them and wrapped them. Finished just in time to take them to bible study last night and present one to each of the girls.
The cabs are Larimar in matrix. Very nice to work with although the matrix part was a tiny bit pitty.
Each of the women have a pendant to remind them of thier awesome trip to DR and the families they are helping there! I have one more preform that I cut for me. Hopefully I get it done in the next week or two.

Those are beautiful and I especially like the accent beads. Great work. Larimar is one of my favorite stones. Tammy, I've heard that the more blue the larimar is the higher the quality with the more intense and uniform blue being the highest quality. I'm actually partial to pieces of it that have the red of hematite and maybe even a little sea green color in them.
