Got this one at that liquidation in Key Largo. Almost missed it, she asked me if I wanted this big rock too & looked at it & said "Oh yeah!" Probably weighs about 5 pounds!

Well, Roy you need to practice on yours because when I get ready to cut this one it will be headed your way! I might just get a few slices off it & save a hunk as a background for taking pictures & just looking at!

Donnie are all these that you're posting for you, or are you selling them? You know I'm always interested in stuff you get, plus you're my friend and I never doubt the value of the stuff you sell!!!

Robin, yes & yes. I will be slabbing what I can, keep one or two, sell the rest. Keep your eyes open because sometime soon I will start offering some small flat rate boxes of slabs either for sale or auction.

Maybe 15 years ago we were in a rockshop in Wheatland WY. The dealer had about 200 pounds on Youngite laying around. The dealer told me that was all he could get because of the difficulty of the miner was having getting to the material. He said the miner had to crawl into a small hole on his belly and get a few pieces and with no room to turn around crawl out backwards to get back out. He had two large pieces on display. Only one piece was for sale and the other would go on permanent display in his shop. After three visits back to the shop one of the larger pieces went home with us. It was hard to justify paying that much for a rock. It now sits on the coffee table in the living room where the sun shines through every afternoon and a look at the sparkles almost justifies the price. BTW my wife's name is Yung. The rock weighs about 40 pounds, 24x12x12 inches and I am informed it is NOT FOR SALE. Don

Thanks for the information, Don! I can understand why your wife doesn't want to sell it. I like going outside & looking at the sparkles on this one. That's why it will probably just sit there for a while.

That is neat looking Donnie! I don't know why you'd want to cut it up... the slices aren't that pretty, and the specimen is gorgeous!!

Helen: Have you ever seen cabs of this stuff?! They are really gorgeous! I bought a specimen off Mel for my husband but when I saw the underside I thought, "Gee, this sits kind of funny hun, maybe we should trim a slab off the bottom so it doesn't wobbly back and forth" Sue

I never did slab it, Scott. I sent it to a guy so he could make a sphere out of it. In exchange I got some chunks & a couple of slabs from it that I will use to make cabs & druzy cabs with. Do you have some hunks of it? As far as price? I really don't know. I've seen some big prices for youngite & then on the other hand I've seen low prices on it.

I dont but braders found a new source and wants to sell some at a mutually beneficial price. He's trying to find that sweet spot.
