Hey all. if after a week in 120/220 there is still a good amount of grit present would you let them go till all the grit is broken down or just take out the rocks and leave the grit and pellets for the next batch

All the grit should have broke down after a week. If there is still some left, maybe you used to much. Or perhaps there is too much water in the barrel and not enough rock? Either way, I wouldn't recommend saving it. Dump it out and save the pellets for the next batch. 1 week is enough time in 120/220. Don't bother going longer. Somtimes you really only need 5 days of 120/220 for some rock types.

I am a little on frugal side and let my grit go until it is absolutely crushed. it may take me a little longer to do rock but a few more days more or less will make no difference to the rock they are already millions of years old. The rock should dictate how long they belong in the grit. I am working on having 1 barrel for each grit that I use, I got enough money for my birthday this week to get the last one and am waiting for it to get here so I can put it to work.
