When my son took his rocks (some bought, some tumbled in his toy tumbler) to Boy Scouts, one of the little boys there was so interested in everything about those rocks. He asked me a million questions, only some of which I had answers to. I asked my son since we have a real tumbler now if he might like to give his friend his toy tumbler and he was really excited to give it to his friend. So we are going to pass the little one on to his scout friend. I am hoping to give him enough grit for a couple tumbles and some rocks, I just need to see if I have some smaller ones for him. I am jot sure how the plastic barrel holds up. This little boy was so into the rocks we had, he sat with me after all the other boys went to play . I am excited to give it to him! Jen

I wouldn't worry about enough grit for a second load of rock until you know the tumbler still works then. They are toys and don't last long, but that doesn't mean it's not worth using it to introduce a young person to the hobby. You mean Cub Scouts right? Boy Scouts starts at age 11. Eleven years-olds don't play. We called it hanging out, but I'm an old fart. They probably use a different term for it now.

What great fun--for all of you! I'll bet your son's friend is sooo exited.

Lol Daniel, yes Cub scouts (I don't think I will ever get that right, it's all the same to me) they are still 8 and love to play . The tumbler has only been used once (if that tells you how quickly I decided I NEEDED a tumbler) so I hope he can do a couple loads. Jen
