The other day I found a bunch of thumbnail display boxes in my basement which had been stored for about 16 years. They were dirty, and even had a little bit of mold on the outsides. Washing the outsides with soap and water leaves water spots on the plastic. I looked around and found a spray bottle of Armor All automotive plastic part cleaner. It worked like a charm. Just a couple squirts on a Kleenex, wipe the boxes down and dry with another Kleenex. The boxes look like new, and most are already filled with thumbnail minerals and labels.

I love it when I find an easy solution like that. Thanks for the tip!

I wish I had seen this tip before I washed by hand about four dozen plastic boxes with Dawn!

Yep! Going to put a note re spray Armor All with the plastic containers. Don't want to wash them again!

You have quite the basement. As I recall, you've got a thread somewhere that you update periodically with the latest "find" from the basement. Let me know when you find that wardrobe that took the Pevensie kids to Narnia. I bet you've got that down there as well. LOL! Paul

LOL, if I had a map, it'd take all the fun out of digging down there.
