I've had this machine for a long time, never used it, not really sure what it's for or does. The 2 pads seem farely obvious, but do I put pads over top of them? Seems they are for polishing. The other side has the 2 dish looking things, there's an internal water pump that pumps water onto them, no idea if it works or what they are for. I have 2 of these arbor things, no threads on them, must be useful for something. All ideas appreciated. Attachments:

That is a Diamond Demon or some kind of copy of it. You can make cabs on it. Lots of people who polish opals love these machines. Most of them are variable speed also.

That is a very nice unit to have. I got the see one in action in Tucson Electric Park.
The owner and maker of those is a member here, his name is Jim and goes by rockitman.

The arbors must be for changing up the speed on something. I wish I would have had something like that when I built my polisher. Sometimes I would like to slow it down, like when I am using my leather pad. Jim

on my unit the pads turn, I would assume the one on the video does as well.
I'm think about putting an arbor motor adapter on the one with the pulleys and making a super grinder.

That looks like the machines they use to do the polishing on eyeglasses.
