Beautiful area! That house is a Silicon Valley fixer-upper, a real steal at only $400,000!

Wowsers... such incredible open spaces!! Wonder how the person who lived in that house got food and gas? The land doesn't look all that farmable...

There used to be small towns which no longer exist like albion and capitol. Capitol rock is near here.... the least visited national monument in the country. There is some dryland farming here and you couldn't touch this house for $400k because it would come w/a ranch which would be well over $1 milllion. A small ranch here is 2,000 acres and some of this area takes 100 acres per cow.

Big difference from where I live. Here living by the ocean a 1/2 acre is considered large

Okay Dave, the first thing I do with a photo is a complete touch-up - basically a re-rendering of the image. I stack them into several layers and apply hue, brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpening and vibrance adjustments, one to each layer, then combine them back into one image. So this is the image before I started painting (one of them): PM me your email address if you want the full size image of this photo and I'll send it to you. I only post 770 wide photos here for those that have older monitors. Now, the next step I do is a speed-painting. It's a timed work where I set myself a specific window to complete a painting - usually 20 minutes, 40 minutes, or an hour. The speed painting gives me a better feel for colors, shapes, etc., so I always do that first. This piece is a speed painting done in 20 minutes: You can pull down a copy of the full sized image here: rhuggs.deviantart.com/#/d4spgl5Click on the image and you'll see it expand outward. Hope you like it, I sure do!

A little work and that house would be doable...kinda. Great shots, Dave! Thanks for sharing them!
