Whew, never seen a slab grabber used that way. I always use mine for heels or nodule pieces that are already cut and have a flat side I put against the grabber. That looks like a blade breaking situation to me but if it works and you're willing to risk it what the heck.....Mel

I have several of those slab grabbers, they work better than any other one I have ever used.

How does it work? What is the trick to it?

How does it work? What is the trick to it? The screw heads act as grippers, you can thread the screws in or out to get the desired depth, then you tighten up the closest nut till the grippers are good and tight, then you tighten up the back threaded rod in the opposite direction or outwards and it creates a pinch effect which in turn makes the grippers dig in a little more. One of the double sets is stationary, the other double sets rotates so you can virtually grip almost any shape. Then you grab the rock and try to shake the grabber loose, if it won't come off you can proceed to cutting, if it comes off you start over. Tony

This thing looks great. I've only cut like 5 slabs this morning and already wish I had one!
