Christa and I spent some time out at Burro creek yesterday. First time she had been past the camp ground area, so it was a treat to take her back to the crossing. Gorgeous sunny day and the wildlife was out in force. We saw javelina, a fox, rabbits. squirrels and coyotes to name a few. Oh yeah found a few rocks too ;D Here's some pics winding down the switch backs with the Bagdad mine in the distance thought this saguaro rather interesting hawk perched on another saguaro the creek and of course a burro we really had a great day out there! Here's some finds the three biggies I dug up show some nice potential looking forward to cleaning them up and feeding 'em to the saw! more rough in the bucket and a cool bottle Christa found Thanks a bunch for looking!

Great trip Brian! I would stay out there for the wildlife alone. The rocks make it perfect.

First, I'd suggest moving this to the Trips section. Second, I sort of "borrowed" one of your photos. I had recently finished reading the Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter series just as the movie came out. Odd coincidence or irony, I don't know. Anyway, I had been wanting to put together some Fantasy art and one of your photos worked perfectly as a backdrop. I hope you don't mind. Here's a small version of the print, titled, "John Carter - Warlord of Mars". Here he is facing two of the giant Great White Apes, and up on the hill, in the background, is his friend Tars Tarkus and his Tharks...yes, I'm into fantasy stuff.... You can check out the full size image at rhuggs.deviantart.com/#/d4sl2cb, just click on it and it will expand.

You had a great time there, or at least that's what your beautiful pictures say.

I just LOVE the scenery you have out there.... gotta make it out to the desert one of these days just to see it! Chrome, how's Roy's pix coming along:)? Haven't seen any updates in a while:). Slowly. The thing with photo restoration is it takes a looong time. I'm working at individual pixel level right now to try and ascertain colors of their clothing, hair color, etc. It's not as fast and easy as my playing with art. I try to keep the photo looking as original as possible, then colorize it. Wouldn't want to give his mom some dimples or something silly like that, by accident...LOL!!! It usually takes from one to two months to complete a really faded photo. Roy's is like that. I actually get a head ache after about 2 hours of working the image at that level. Good thing I don't have epilepsy, as the light I'm working with would do me in! Anyway, soon as the photo is done, I'm sending it to Roy, then when he say's it's good to go, I'll do some paintings of it. I'm actually pretty excited about doing the paintings, but the restoration is incredibly painstaking if you want to do it right.
