The preforms came out of the Lot-O tonight. Way too many to shoot in one night, so I'm going to post smaller batches of photos in the cab section. Here are the group shots... I'm really well pleased with these! Cathy

Wow! No wonder you are pleased--they turned out great! By the time you are done with them you will be an expert wire wrapper.

Hi guys! I really don't know for sure what the stone is but Roy sent me this link and it's the closest I've seen so far online for it. www.rarerocksandgems.com/webfolders/RocksFossilsMeteo/Willowcreek/masters/willowcreek4.htmWhat they are is the culmination of a whole lot of learning that's gone on here over the past winter with all of you! Can't tell you all how thankful I am to have this site and all of you to show me how to do all of this! It's really quite a skill set that is involved with the whole process of working with these rocks and there's somebody here who always seems to have an answer to my questions...even those I haven't thought to ask. Thank all of you for being here! Cathy

HI Cathy,
I saw the other post under cabs. I thought these were green from the pics above, but on the other thread they are more gray, is that right?
Either way the shine and shaping look great to me!

Hi John, actually, the darker color is more of a blue-grey to grey. Some actually have a very light pale sky blue as well. There is also a golden cream cast to some of them and others it's just cream. Really interesting stone to work with and it really pulls me into it every time I work it. The scenes are very intricate...even to the tiny curls on the waves. They're almost like photographic paintings, which is why I've been so psycho about finding just the right way to finish them. These were the ones that I was watching the chips of in the Lortone tumble that I mangled and the first Lot-O run. I was watching for discoloration and fracturing. They're why I wanted the Lot-O run to work so badly. I've been messing with the slabs since last September, trying to get just the right cuts to be able to make a run with them. When I saw that the Lot-O would work, that's all I needed to dome them up and run them. I was really anxious about the long ones and the bigger ones, but it treated them beautifully! In point of fact, I think you were the one who told me I should look into the vibes because of what I was looking to do! LOL! Great call and it was definitely worth it! Tweaking up the combo unit has helped enormously too! I domed all of these over the weekend. It was a very looong weekend, but the machine did great!
Thanks for all of the help!
Cathy

Those are utterly beautiful.
They look like what the surface of Venus might look like.

Beautiful! I LOVE flint! LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! You should try getting some of Sue's flint if she's got any of the colorful ones left... they are astonishing too!
