Today involved a few hundred miles on the truck, but brought home some sweet craigslist treasures. First up, I met an unknown seller in Denver and bought a virtually new QT12 pretty cheap, just needs the guide: Next stop, I met RTH member "rockhuntress" and bought a bunch of lakers. She threw in a Lot-o! Last up, a seller who I was going to pass on came to mind, and I called him to see if he'd knock a few hundred off his slab saw. He said yes so I headed out onto the Eastern Colorado plains to pick up a 12" slab saw: I ruined another shirt when I fired it up, and didn't have the lid closed. That's twice I've done that. I honestly thought it had 2 switches though, one to disengage when the rock carrier went too far, and the master switch that was how you turned it on. That's the way the other ones I've looked at worked, but this one looks a little modified and the master switch is gone and now the disconnect is the power switch as well. It runs great, the blade still has some life. it is smaller that some other ones I've been looking at, and I got it for a song! I only got home a little while ago and I am too tired to fire it up, so maybe I'll play with it tomorrow night!

I have a similar twelve and I would rather cut off a finger than give up that saw. You are going to have a great time with that one John. Super find. Jim

BTW Make sure you put a wrench on those wing nuts. You can not tighten them tight enough by hand to keep the stone from moving. After I have the stone tightened I grab it and pull hard to see if it will move. It is surprising how some stones will move even though you think it is tight. Better safe than sorry because you can destroy a blade real quick. Jim

Whoooweee! You're doing it up right. Another week or two and you'll be operating a back hoe in your own claim. Way to go John.
