I love this rain here in Southern California!! We need a good washing, it's been SO dry and dusty here in Acton. And I'm excited to hit all the local treasure spots after the storm...should be some nice pickings and everything will be clean and easy to find, right? That's my vision, hahaha. Oh, and I'm getting my Estwing rock pick delivered from Amazon today!!!
But for now, I'm housebound with the 2 Labradors (out in the rain, happy!) and the 2 Jack Russells and 2 cats. It's a great day to spend time sorting some of my stuff. Fun to just move them around to different spots and remember the trip when you got each piece. At least, that's my fun and I don't get much down time to enjoy that simple pleasure.
I'm at about 3500 ft and they say possibly snow here tonight...not New England snow, but still...a novelty for us.

Same for South Dakota. 80 yesterday. Mid 70's today. Snow is gone, and none in the near future. No spring flooding here this year. Yippee !! Gonna haul the saw outside tomorrow and do some slabbing. In March no less. In South Dakota.

I just spent three hours in and out of the rain getting this weeks tumbles done. I'm trying to keep the Gem Hill stones away from the Castle Butte rocks while starting the Kramer Hills batch. I even started a mixed batch of stuff that has been gathering. It did start to rain pretty hard while I was doing all this. What the heck, It felt good to get some fresh air and water.

Hello fellow Actonite! Yeah, we were hoping it would snow, but all we got was a lot of rain and 10 minutes of snow flurries. Bummer. So we stayed in the garage all day and worked on cabs. We stay warm in there with a propane heater. I shaped and polished a box of preforms and hubby cut 76 new pieces with the trim saw. It was a busy day.

A nice saint Paddys day here in the Pacific Northwest,,,,,,,,,,,,woke up to snow again, and it is damn near April. I have a water bowl on the deck for the dogs, and I have not had to fill it for a week, and they normally have in empty by the end of the day. Woody

Well, we ended up getting a lot of rain, wind, snow, rain, snow, hail, sun, rain and snow! But it sure was nice to see all the stones I have outside the front door after a nice washing! Guess we'll go hunting next weekend.... Not much snow, but enough to make it hard to find treasure! Two days in the house with no adventure? Some of my collection Howlite on the right and ?? Chrysocolla on quartz Common green opal and ?? Some new favorites, each about the size of my hand. Can't wait to go searching for more...
