Love that white one in the bottom right of #3. Some kind of coral?

Love that white one in the bottom right of #3. Some kind of coral? an indonesian coral - but the slabs do not show as well. The edge effect is nice, but the center is kind of nonocromatic. I will have some pics shortly you really have some nice stuff..what is the one in the third pic with all the circles ditto

Nice asortment. So, did you find the the rock you were looking for in the first place?

Yes. But it turned out I had it on a bookshelf in the living room. Looked for hours and was starting to wonder who could have taken it ... and then I saw it.

Is this some of the same material you cut in your other thread? Great looking stuff! Paul

Yes. Not all these rocks have slabs in the latest bucket. some were in the last slab bucket, or even the one before. I don't empty the soapy rock buckets very often because they are heavy and sloshy.

Wow... lots of beautiful rocks! Why do you keep rocks in soapy buckets??

Helen, just the rock that was in the saw and got covered with oil goes in those buckets.
I must have 60 or 70 dry buckets, but that is rock I have not gotten to or fussed with in a few years.

Lot of nice material there. I do something similar. Lately I've been in the process of gluing the nicer butts to boards so I can cut them down completely.

Tony, I have several slab grabbers that work for most situations. SOme only fit in the 10" and others the 12". ALso, some of these butts are larger than the portion I already slabbed.
I think mostly it is the impatience to cut something else.
I have been trying to get organized to sell off some surplus, and there are a lot of pieces that I don't want to let go of, but I thing, "... well if I had some slices or a piece, I might part with the rest". Has not worked out that way so far, but it does sound logical. I may drag some buckets to some wsap-meets yet.

Since this was bumped up... I'm looking at your rocks again, and noticed that all your rocks are clean... squared, and ready to cut looking... do you cut the ends off and save them in blocks or something, Daniel?
That has to be the cleanest bucket of rough I've ever seen:).

Daniel, you told me once that, after you visit a rock fair, the vendors you bought rocks from have to lower the price 'cause you pick the cream. Now I am convinced you're right Adrian
