welcome to a new level.
did you use hand held or drill press, and did you squire or submerge in water. What size drill bit? Was it solid or core? Did you have any trouble with the bit walking around when 1st starting?
How long did it take?

My husband is the first victim, er, experimenter, and he ascertained that a hand held Dremel was too much of a PITA so he got a drill press and made several drills with that set-up before he turned it over to me. Worked wet, core drill. Yes, the bit does walk some even though it's held in a sort of clamping thingy. We're still working on that part of it. Doesn't take long, a couple, three minutes, at least if you're asking how long did it take me to drill this actual hole. To figure out what the heck we were doing and how exactly we wanted to set it up, I'd say hubby has been working on that part of it for months. Yikes!!! Will practice some more holes next weekend...Oh, size, shoot, I already forgot, but it's good-sized. I want to say 3/8 inch. Reason: The plan is to create rather large, casual pieces that can be worn on a leather cord.

I think core drils will walk less, cut quicker, and last linger, - but you cannot get them as small.
have fun drilling

Oh yeah, the core drills definitely last longer. Not even a close contest, according to our experiments. Not looking to do small, dainty, fiddly stuff at the moment...looking to create bigger, more masculine or more casual items, so bigger holes are fine.

Nice job. I tried drilling at first with a Dremmel and a used dental bit. It took forever and I gave up on the idea until I saw a demo of Rio Grande's mini drill press. now it is much easier with the small press (high speed and light pressure on and off to cool the drill) Karock
