This last weekend we were in Roseville, CA displaying our cases and I came across this slab. The dealer had found a 6" nodule and he had some slabs of it for sale. He said it was not found in the area that Pigeon Blood Agate is found so he didn't think it was that material. Here are some photos. The slab is 6" across. ![](http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s160/Rocksbob/New%20Photos/IMG_1024.jpg) ![](http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s160/Rocksbob/New%20Photos/IMG_1027.jpg) ![](http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s160/Rocksbob/New%20Photos/IMG_1028.jpg) ![](http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s160/Rocksbob/New%20Photos/IMG_1029.jpg) And a side view of the rind. ![](http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s160/Rocksbob/New%20Photos/IMG_1030.jpg) Any ideas? Sure looks like some of the agate from the San Rafael Reef/Green River region of Utah to me. Many of the nodules from that region have that botryoidal exterior and are orby inside too......Mel

Wow! That is so beautiful. I can only say that the pigeonblood I have had in the past seemed to have a darker red to the dots. That seems to be a bit of a different shade but it is so amazing! It looks fracture free too! Fran
