I recently built a gravity feed using a paint bucket also. I don`t know what you are using for weight but unless it is liquid take the time to center it in the bucket for an even pull on the cable. I put a landing pad of foam rubber at the bottom of mine to soften the breakout cut and not leave big chips hanging on at the end. I normally use 3 lbs. of weight but I`m pulling a cast iron carriage with large vise on mine. Best of luck fine tuning it. It`s not hard to do really.
