Well, lets see. A new belt, hat band and knife sheath, and a couple of good meals. Don't wanna let that beauty go to waste.

Looking at that dedicated tool he's holding the snake with, the guy expected to encounter snakes there. He reminds me about Steve Irwin. Same look.

We drove from Abilene to Johnson City yesterday. The flowers are amazing. Not just blue bonnets. Fields of yellow, blue, white, orange, pink. Last year when we were in Austin on Easter the hills were covered with blue bonnets and as mentioned parents taking pictures of their kids sitting amongst them in their Easter finest. That snake would make three or four of our Mojave side winders.

That's a big snake. Around here they used to wear stovepipes on lower legs, and heavy boots when snake hunting.

Love the blue bonnets but after seeing the rattle snake - no way I would go and pic some or go out in middle of them and take a picture !!!!

Looking again I see the Steve Irwin wannabe is standing in an area with no flowers so apparently not related to the coiled visitor in blue bonnet picture. All the same, when I go check my property I'll probably be more careful than normal.

They always do a rattlesnake roundup near San Angelo every year and as many as they get, we never run out of rattlers there. The flowers draw us in but you always have to be aware of where you are. Fran

Very cool pics. I miss seeing all the bluebonnets along the highways there. I've never seen a rattler in them but looks like rattlers like flowers too. I even broke down one year and took a picture of me in the bluebonnets but it was on regular film so not on my computer. We have lupine here that look similar to bluebonnets but not the same and ours bloom in June or early July. i119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/sweetinmontana/Montana pictures/IMG_1362.jpg[/IMG]
