I receive some Covelite today and was wondering if anyone has any tips on polishing this material. Does it respond better to aluminum oxide or cerium or do I need something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I may have figured it out. What I did is I only cut to 1200, like I do with opals, and then I went to polish with cerium. I think there might be a better way..... here is what I got Not a lot of blue in this material like the Montana stuff. I think this is from South America. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Boy this is messy stuff!!!

Try AlOx on leather. I use to cut quite a bit of covellite and this was the best combination I found.

I get a great polish on EVERYTHING I've tried to polish with diamond paste on a leather wheel. I go from 8K Nova wheel to 50K paste, then finish at 100K paste.
