As several members have noted, though Bahia agates are generally sold as tumblers it is often worthwhile to cut them as the inside often is prettier than the tumbled outside. The mini slabs one gets are usually natural preforms. I was digging through my remaining Bahias, having already cut all the promising looking ones when I decided to cut this plain looking one. I sure do like these little fellas, Bill The exterior And the nice surprise inside.

I've cut them too and have found some real winners, but nothing quite like that. Awesome! I want to see it when it's cabbed.

I love Bahias. I tumble the small ones and keep the large for slabettes. Fractures or pits can be problematic but the agates are very beautiful....Mel

I am hooked on the Bahia agates too. Been ordering from the rock shed and get a few good cutters in each batch and tumble the rest. I have not found anywhere else that sells them?
