Howdy folks,
Recently Dave ( dbrealityrocks) was amazingly generous and sent me a whole bunch of slabs and rough to add to my type collection, just because he thought it would be fun. He sent a real variety of material, some I'd never before even seen and succeeded in adding quite a few items to my collection. So thank you Dave. You rule and I apologize for taking so long to take a few pics! Things here on the ranch have been crazy lately. We've had cattle stuck in the lake, our ranch manager quit with like no notice because he was sick of dealing with our dang trappers and we had to fire the trappers for being gulldanged crooks. Plus I've been doing range survey and thistle control in all my free time after I finish the usual long list of horse stuff and honeydos *L*. Anyway, enough excuses, here are pics of just a few of the things Dave sent me....Mel
Scenic Jasper from Mexico:
Dragon's Blood Stone from Australia:
Fantasy Jasper:
Mushroom Jasper, I think from AZ:
Atlantisite. Very cool and new to me. Don't know what the heck it is but pretty green and purple stuff
Charoite sp?
Mary Ellen Jasper:
Sonora Sunrise:
An orbicular rhyolite kind of like leopardskin jasper but different:
Red Leopardskin Jasper:
Hidden Valley Jasper. Yummy stuff!;
Banded or wavy rhyolite. Very pretty in person and kind of like some we have here in Texas:
Crazy Lace and Paul Bunyan:
Looks like an Agua Nueva but might be a Laguna or something else:
And finally, he sent me several variations of this form of orbicular rhyolite which looks very similar to Flor De Chihuahua from Mexico: Nice stuff and very silicified.
