He has a lot to sell. Probably has so many to offer because no one can afford prices like that. I just found fireagate.us/ today. Prices are more reasonable. I have no experience with the guy, though. Looking at his pictures makes me want to tackle some fire agate carving. Lynn

I researched fireagate.us because he bought 6 specimens from dougy225. I got an inkling it WAS dougy. Brand new ebay seller and newly purchased web domain.
This got me to look at fireagate.com and I saw all these crazy colors. I have never seen similar colors ever on any website or auction.

The prices you see at fireagate.com are not unreasonable the the quality of the work and material. I would demand similar prices if I could source such fine material. most people have no concept of the time and skill involved with carving fire agate.

First link is Bob Beaudry in Arizona, He's Legit, its all Slaughter and Deer creek material, most carved by Joe Intili. The colors are even quite acurate but the price reflects that also fireagate.us no clue and even stranger he would buy fire agate from my theif dougy 224 thats odd to me. Anyways thats my 2 cents Paul Orchids9

Its registered to tom herschbach of maricopa mining. sounds like a small timer with his own claim, probably legit... he probably bought from dougy for the same reason I did...too good to be true rough...

Fireagate.com is around for a long time. Have not bought from them, but they where very helpful a few years ago as I was at my starting point and had some questions in regards how to get started working Stone/fire-agate. Very friendly folks at that time. The colors are true to reality, but do be reminded to check out the seizes as things usually appear much grander in the pictures. LOL

I saw some fire agates at a couple of shows... and those colors don't even come close to the real thing of that quality and price. They are unbelievable looking... there is literally no other stone that looks like them ANYWHERE.
Too bad the vast majority of fire agates are the plain brownish/goldish bubbles:(. I was naive enough to buy a few lbs of the rough... and getting colors like that is not common, even starting with the best of the best rough.

From my experience of photographing fire agate it seems highly likely that the photos at fireagate.com have been enhanced a little. I am sure the colors presented are there but it seems a little too intense and you can see how some of the colors bleed into another because of the enhancement.

I see that in any of their pictures I don't want to do business with them. You will see a lot of that on ebay too

Hi, y'all! The guy, Tom, that owns the fireagate.us website has a fire agate blog, too, and joined the OA forum several months ago. He had to remove his links to the blog and website on OA since they don't allow outside seller links. I had the link to his blog but cannot locate it right now. edit - His fire agate blog is on Ganoskin and the link was left in his posting on OA. forums.opalauctions.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2961&start=75He seemed to be a very nice guy although I have not purchased anything from him. I really like the Oatman material--Wow!!

Hello all, better late than never Just stopping in to see if I can answer anyones questions regarding Fire Agates, Maricopa Mining, Myself, or www.FireAgate.usIn short, I'm fairly new to the entire lapidary and gemstone world, but I have a long background in gold mining (born and raised in Alaska). After moving to Arizona I discovered Fire Agates and fell in love with them. I now have 4 active fire agate claims, 3 here in Arizona and 1 in California (I plan on staking more soon, just been waiting for the tempertures to cool down a bit). I'm still a beginner when it comes to carving, it figures I would pick one of the hardest stones to carve as my first experience in lapidary work. I'm getting a lot better now, but still have a long ways to go before I rival any of the masters. I don't have much spare time to spend on the wheel, I'm very busy on the mining end of things and on the never-ending sales and marketing tasks. Let's see..... yes, I often buy gems, windows and rough from other people, sometimes to see what the 'other guy' is offering, maybe to rucut the item, or just because I like the piece Do I really need it, not really, I currently have about 1500+ pounds of good rough in my garage and will soon be back into mine production for the winter. This being an older thread, I recognize some of the names here and we have either met elsewhere in cyberspace since I'm heavily into social media, or you are possibly a past customer, but a few I do not know and would like to introduce myself to and say 'hi'. Tom
