I have a pretty good pile of slabs now for the "to do" pile for the great if and when I get another flat lap. Was wondering where the techniques, equipment, etc. were being discussed...

I think in lapidary tips and general and maybe one or two in the tumbling posts. All were vibe lap posts.

I had a vibe lap. It did OK with heavier slabs. Messy though.
I do some smaller ones on my Covington belt sander. Still the final step on felt with AO is still a bit messy.
I have been drooling over the Covington 12" maxi-lap but have not had the spare bucks.

My vibe lap did not do so well with getting the saw marks out...but it has been awhile. Don't recall all the details.

Funny, my saw doesnt really leave marks, so the vibrating lap works pretty well
