I have been insanely busy and have just now got a round to getting pictures of a piece that I did from a bruneau jasper that Kurt generously sent to me, after I mentioned that I wanted to wrap it. This is a really big stone, with a crazy shape that I was dying to try. It was a challenge to design around, which is why I wanted to do it. The bottom of the stone has a kind of chiseled edge, so that posed a problem, but I did it. I used patterned copper wire from Rio Grande and left it raw because I love the look. I'm going to let this patina naturally and see how it looks that way. Thank you, Kurt for a great stone and a fun challenge ;D I'm trying to link pics from my own domain. I just got it, (YAY!) and have been busy building my site. It is done now. Wrapping is way easier than web work. www.telaformosa.com

Well, I see that despite doing exactly the same thing for 2 other pictures, it didn't work.
Can someone explain what to do to post more than one? I just tried in this post and couldn't do it either.

Wow cabs that some might have thought to be a little to unconventional in their shape have now become a work of art in which any other shape would not have looked quite as nice. Great wrap and great cabs Kurt.

Thanks! I had to think about this one for awhile before I started it. I think I was a little intimidated by it.

That looks great.
The wire brings out the pattern and color (something I thought of as too bland for my taste at the time).
Too big? I thought of this one as the baby brother to the one with the orbs. LOL Shape challenge? Have a look at either a post on cabs or Killer Cab Contest entry tomorrow morning. Got a new shape that while freeform is a bit more calculated.
Great work, As always, looking forward to more of your creations...... Kurt

Tela, I love what you did with this! The wrap just enhances the stone so beautifully! Excellent work!

Hey, thanks everyone. Hub, sometimes it takes awhile, but when a stone inspires me, I just run with it.

I like it, I think non-standard cabs bring alot to a piece.

I have looked at this on three different days now and am still amazed that you did such a cohesive wrap! It flows beautifully.

Thank you, everyone Credit definitely goes to KK Kurt for cutting such a unique stone. I love it and I really enjoyed working with it. Susan, that is such a great compliment that you came back to look at it. I had one piece where a woman commented that it was a nice wrap, but she was unsure about it. Then, a few days later she came back and said that she had revisited quite a few times because it had "gotten under skin". That was cool, too. You know you are doing something right when people want to look twice or more. Thank you.

Nahhh, Tela, it took your talent and inspiration to make it shine. Sending it to you was the best thing that I could have ever done. And I'm really glad I did.
