I see some tumblers have 2 or more barrels. Would this be good for maybe doing grit in one and polish in another? I read you can reuse polish, so I thought this might be a good idea...wouldn't get grit in polish. Or am I missing something?

You would most likely have to buy extra barrels. For instance. The two barrel that come with the tumbler would be for 60/90 grit and 120/220. Then buy two extra barrels, one for pre-polish and one for ploish ONLY. That is at a minimum. I actually have eight barrels total for my T2 tumbler. I use the different grit barrels depending on the circumstances.

Tom, if you have/or buy a Lortone QT66, I have an extra barrel I'll sell you for $25.00 plus postage. It's never been used. I got two extra barrels from a guy on ebay and thought I would need them, but have since bought two more tumblers that I use just for pre-polish and polish.
I just use the QT for coarse grit and can only tumble two at a time. I will still have an extra barrel, so I can part with one of the two extras I bought
If Tom doesn't want this barrel and someone else does, let me know.

I have ended up with three bbls for my 2bbl tumbler. I exclusively use one for polish, and the other two I use for all grits. I have found, even starting with coarse, running full cycle tends to even the grits to match the cycles. I do, also wash both the stones and bbls between each cycle. The polish bbl I never use grits and run a dunnage load between different polish runs, full seven days.

I am just looking into getting started, so I haven't decided what (if anything) to get. If anyone else wants the extra barrels, they are yours.

When I got my new Lortone tumbler I just went ahead and bought three extra barrels to complete a full set-up for all four stages.
