Went to the dentist this AM for normal cleaning. I asked him about secondary sales of ultrasonic drills. He said they don't use ultrasonic, they use ultra-high-speed drills. Then he gave me one with a few dozen spare burrs and the hose to connect it to: My dentist is awesome, I plan on making his office a half-dozen pendants for the office ladies and his wife as a thank you. In the meantime, there are 4 smaller hoses in the hose he gave me. He said to run at 45 psi, but didn't know what I had to hook up and what I didn't. I think only the largest hose is air, and the others are water, air+water, and exhaust so I can probably leave those disconnected. Anyone have experience with these to help me sort out what I need to get it running?

Can't read the makers name in your pic. See if you can google them. They should be able to tell you about the hoses. They may even be able to supply a single hose to fit that drill. Think they use those with a foot peddle speed control. They may be able to supply one of those too.
Be sure to run a couple drops of pneumatic tool oil thru the drill every few hours. Just put 3 or 4 drops in your air hose and run it for a minute. It'll make the drill last a lot longer.

Wow, rabbit hole found....
So it is a Lares, it appears to be "4-hole with optical"
The other end of the old hose he gave me only has 4 holes, but trying to find what to connect that to got me lost.
It looks like in at least some cases these handpieces are water-cooled so water may be necessary.
Anyone have any experience with these dental handpieces?
I can call Lares support, but not this week. I'd love to DIY something with my compressor and possibly water if that is in fact necessary internally to the tool.
