ok, my 12 yr old son Darren had this batch hatch today. Its a nice variety of rocks and took a good shine too. My boys talked my wife into buying them 10 of the clear trays that are shown here at the dollar store and they turned out to be perfect for displaying there batches. The one "eyed" bahia agate makes the 8 week wait worth it! thanks for looking, Chuck and Darren the whole batch bahia agate view 1 (eyes) bahia aghate view 2 (eyes) bahia agate bahia agate group mixed rocks brazillian and montana saw trims crazy lace trims

Great batch, those Bahias are such cool little agates. That one with the eyes is very cool.

The thing that impresses me the most is that you are working on this with the kids. Too many people don't. Awesome on all fronts. Jim

yeah, I still don't have a barrel for my self yet so everything we have tumbled has been the kids stuff most of which they have saved up for and ordered from the rock shed. They have me interested enough now that I want to give it a try too might be a 12lb barrel in my future. thanks for the compliments its nice to be able to participate in such a great forum. Chuck

That's a fantastic shine on those. Well done!
I love eye agates and that Bahia is a beauty.

Very nice batch Darren! When you get the other 9 filled, get some jars, empty aquariums, etc. .Those bahias make pretty tumbles,as do the saw cuts you have.Keep it up. snuffy

Those are GREAT!!! The bahia agates came out so shiny! I tried a few agates and lost all my druzy parts, so I haven't tried any with druzy again. But yours did really great!

Do you tumble them all together?

riverrock - yes everything in this batch ran together. The agates got the best shine of the batch becuase they were the hardest on the MOH scale. Thats how the mixed rock batches go though the hardest rocks will take the best shine and the softest in the batch will take the least shine.
