Those sound like they will be productive field trips, along with a visit to Elkins Gems next door to the Pow Wow (before it closes forever later in the summer), and looking through all the wares at the show itself. I already have it penciled in for a busy weekend.

We did that show one time. Biggest problem was I could not go on the field trips. Also, everyone in the area seemed to be out of work. Lots of great rough for sale, a real rock show.

Yes I do believe White Fir Agate Bed is one on the trip. They club recently purchased the Agate Bed from Nadine Carey and also since the Chamber of Commerce failed to re-new the Jasper beds the club also claimed this as well. I talked with the incoming president and he said they are going to try and bring in a backhoe and open some new area's on the agate bed.
Any hoot - should be a fun time!

Yuri, Yeah Judy's closing shop soon. She's already started cleaning house. To be honest, I have not made it by just yet either! I was thinking about it today as I'll be headed through Prineville tomorrow. I'm heading over to Glass Butte's for a day run and if I make it back early enough I hope to swing in.

Last I talked to her, she was busy trying to get a lot of old stock items readied to put out during the Pow Wow weekend. There is still quite a bit of bargain material out in the piles, too (and you'd spend more on gas going to most of those places than she charges). She is moving into her dream house, and the rock shop property will eventually be sold. Depending on what is left after the Pow Wow, she may or may not continue to keep it going through the rest of the summer. It will be sad to see Prineville, of all places, reduced to one rock shop, even though there is still an active rockhound community

Kathy, and I will there for the show, and of course to visit Judy. The shop, and Judy will be greatly missed by many. With a wee bit of patience one can always find treasure in that 10 cent pile.
